SONIA & KLEON TSETIS NPCC: A Beacon of Research, Innovation and Social Contribution
In honor of Kleon Tsetis, the founder of the Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group of Companies, his daughters and successors, Julia and Irene Tsetis, established the KLEON TSETIS Non-Profit Civil Company (NPCC) for Scientific Research and Culture in November 2017, drawing inspiration from the values and principles he instilled in the Group from its inception.
In 2026, the Foundation was renamed the SONIA & KLEON TSETIS NPCC, in memory of Sonia Papanikolaou Tsetis, pharmacist, wife and lifelong partner of Kleon Tsetis. Through her scientific expertise, entrepreneurial insight and enduring contribution to society, Sonia Papanikolaou Tsetis played a pivotal role in shaping the vision, values and people-centered philosophy that guide the Foundation’s work.
The establishment of the SONIA & KLEON TSETIS Foundation represents a humble tribute to two visionary scientists who created a Group that, for more than 60 years, has remained steadfast in its commitment to uncompromising values: integrity, excellence, innovation and contribution to society.
Actions and Impact
Supporting Young Scientists & Reversing Brain-Drain
The NPCC actively contributes to the future of science in Greece by awarding scholarships to outstanding students and young researchers. Since its establishment, it has awarded over 45 scholarships, providing incentives for young scientists to remain and thrive in Greece.
Supporting Universities & Research Institutions
With a strong sense of social responsibility, the NPCC contributes to the enhancement of academic and research infrastructures through donations of equipment, consumable materials, and funding for laboratory infrastructure. It has also contributed to upgrading hospital and educational facilities, supporting research and the provision of quality healthcare services.
Bridging Industry & Academia
The NPCC acts as a catalyst in connecting science with entrepreneurship. Through strategic partnerships, it strengthens research and development, bringing together researchers from all fields of health sciences, educational institutions, and industry, with the aim of transforming knowledge into innovative solutions for society.
